Abstract

Objective: The study aims to identify and analyze the dimensions, models, and challenges of technological entrepreneurship within the context of the smart economy through a systematic review of recent scholarly research.

Methods and Materials: This qualitative systematic review employed thematic analysis using Nvivo version 14. Data were collected from scientific articles published between 2015 and 2025 across databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Emerald, and Google Scholar. Following inclusion and exclusion criteria, twelve peer-reviewed articles were selected for in-depth qualitative coding. The analysis process included open, axial, and selective coding until theoretical saturation was achieved.

Findings: Results revealed three overarching themes: (1) digital transformation infrastructures, including emerging technologies, data systems, education, and policy frameworks; (2) new models of entrepreneurship such as data-driven ventures, digital business models, and open innovation; and (3) outcomes and challenges encompassing sustainable development, technological justice, ethical issues, and the need for organizational resilience. The study also highlighted the vital role of collaboration among government, academia, and industry in forming effective smart innovation ecosystems.

Conclusion: Technological entrepreneurship in the smart economy extends beyond economic innovation and serves as a catalyst for sustainable development, social justice, and cultural transformation. Strengthening digital infrastructure, fostering technological skills, and supporting entrepreneurial ecosystems are essential strategies for future advancement in this field.
